My wife Deborah and I have been vegetarians for about 40 years. Both of our children, now in their 30's, were raised vegan and we have two grandchildren enjoying lives filled with tofu, and a variety of healthy fruits and vegetables.
In addition to being one of The Farm Midwives. my wife Deborah has also been studying nutrition, health and diet as well as nutritional treatments of cancer and other illnesses for nearly 40 years. Deborah and I also worked for several years as the authors of The Practical Vegetarian, an internet recipe service.
We are currently working with our daughter (pictured left, with her husband and 2 children) on a new cookbook for vegan children. |

February is often quite mild in Tennessee.
Weather permitting we'll get out for a walk in the woods and a tour of The Farm.

Saturday evening we'll relax and enjoy music around the fireplace. |
Barbara Bloomfield is a long-time member of the Farm and the author of two Cookbooks for the Book Publishing Company, Fabulous Beans and Soups On!.
She has a reputation as one of the best cooks on The Farm. Barb and her husband are exploring the delicious benefits of raw foods.
Barbara will host a Saturday afternoon workshop and cooking class at her home which overlooks the Cox Branch Valley.
